Together, we can build it.
Phase 1
The tableau at lower left depicts a family as they pitch in and help landscape this island of color. As the father digs a hole, his son drags up a potted tree. The young daughter is rapt in setting aflower just so as her mother takes a moment to gaze with pride at all they have accomplished.
Up the slope from Phase 1, Phase 2 is framed by a low sweep of masonry, stands a life-size figure of Ronald Reagan, whose own example inspired so many Americans to rise to the challenge of service and civic action. Portrayed as we often saw him in media coverage, sleeves rolled up, tool in hand, and hard at work, he gazes with approval and admiration at the efforts of the family below. To envision this monument, Friends of Ronald Reagan SP enlisted local area sculptor and designer Christopher Pardell, the artist responsible for the very well received Veteran's Memorial at the Temecula Duck Pond. He has designed for us an installation that fits into the landscape and activity of the Sports Park setting in a way that is both attractive and evocative.
The low curving wall offers space for engraving the names of donors, or the names of those whom donors wish to honor. Another feature of the design is the seating benches under a shady tree. These benches are also available for engraved plaques to recognize major contributors to the realization of this monument.
Please join with us in carrying on the legacy of Ronald Reagan and the spirit of American civic virtue he helped to reawaken in the hearts of our people. We invite you to join us by either becoming a member or if you wish, by making a contribution. Your participation is sincerely appreciated.
